Yes. Ubuntu Harmony is a registered Community Interest Company (CIC) in England and Wales. Our company registration number is 16905790. As a CIC, our work is for the benefit of the community rather than private profit.
You can reach us by phone on +44 (0) 1234 567 890, by email at info@ubuntuharmony.co.uk, or by completing the contact form on this page. Our office hours are Monday to Friday 9:00am–5:00pm and Saturday 10:00am–2:00pm.
We take a person-centred approach to every placement. We don't just provide a property — we work with individuals, families, and professionals to ensure the right support is in place from day one. As a CIC, our motivation is community benefit, not profit.
We offer a range of supported living properties including single occupancy flats, shared houses, and bespoke placements. All our properties are furnished to a high standard and are located in safe, accessible communities with good transport links.
Referrals can be made by completing the contact form on this page and selecting "Referral" as the subject. You can also call or email us directly. We accept referrals from local authorities, social workers, healthcare professionals, family members, and self-referrals.
We aim to acknowledge all referrals within one business day. Once we have all the necessary information, we will assess the referral and arrange a viewing where appropriate. Timelines will vary depending on urgency and property availability.
A member of our team will meet with the prospective tenant and, where applicable, their support worker, carer, or family member. We will walk through the property, discuss any adaptations or support needs, and answer any questions.
Yes. We assess each individual's needs during the referral process and can arrange reasonable adaptations to properties to support accessibility and independence. Please detail any specific requirements when submitting your referral.
Supported living is an arrangement where a person lives in their own home and receives the support they need to live as independently as possible. The housing and support are provided separately, giving the individual greater choice and control over their life.
Our supported living services are suitable for adults with a range of needs including learning disabilities, mental health conditions, physical disabilities, autism, and those leaving care or transitioning from other settings. We carry out an individual assessment for every enquiry.
Support levels range from a few hours per week through to 24-hour support, depending on individual need. Support can include help with daily living skills, budgeting, medication management, appointments, community access, and maintaining tenancy.
Any personal care element of our support services is subject to Care Quality Commission (CQC) registration requirements. We work in partnership with registered providers and always operate within the required regulatory frameworks. Please contact us for details specific to your enquiry.
Absolutely. We encourage family involvement in support planning wherever the individual wishes this. We will always seek consent from the person receiving support and ensure their wishes remain central to all decisions.
Supported living can be funded through a combination of Housing Benefit or Universal Credit (for the housing element) and a Personal Budget or Direct Payment (for the support element). Funding is assessed by the local authority and, where applicable, NHS Continuing Healthcare.
Yes. We welcome tenants who have a Personal Budget or Direct Payment from their local authority. This gives you greater flexibility and control over the support you receive. We can help guide you through the process.
If you are not currently receiving a care and support assessment, we strongly recommend contacting your local authority to request one. We can advise you on the process and support you in making the request where needed.
This will depend on the individual property and your funding arrangements. We will discuss all costs clearly and transparently before any agreement is signed. There are no hidden fees.
Yes. We work with a number of local authorities and welcome funded placements. If you are a commissioning team or social worker, please contact us directly to discuss block bookings or spot purchasing arrangements.
You can submit a referral via the contact form on this page, selecting "Professional Referral" as the enquiry type, or contact us directly by phone or email. Please include as much information as possible about the individual's needs, current situation, and urgency.
Helpful information includes the individual's support needs, current housing situation, funding status, any risk assessments or care plans, preferred location, and any specific property requirements. The more detail you can provide, the faster we can assess suitability.
We acknowledge all referrals within one business day. For urgent or emergency placements, please mark the referral accordingly or call us directly so we can prioritise your case. We aim to provide a full suitability response within three business days for standard referrals.
We do our best to accommodate emergency and urgent placements subject to property availability. Please contact us by phone for the fastest response for time-sensitive cases rather than using the online form.
